Setting new standards in road safety barriers.
The RAMSHIELD® barrier system uses standard W-Beam guardrail and fasteners. The collapse mechanism of the posts makes them suitable for use in deep asphalt and concreted strips, which can often affect the performance of heavier post systems.
We are proud to be able to install RAMSHIELD®, which is designed and manufactured by Safe Direction. This Australian guard rails has set a new standard in road barriers and is designed to reduce the severity of run-off-the-road collisions by protecting and redirecting vehicles away from potential roadside hazards such as trees, poles, culverts and embankments.

Frequently Asked Questions
RAMSHIELD® is a high-performance roadside guardrail system that has been tested to MASH Test Level 3 (TL-3), making it suitable for roads with posted speeds up to 110 km/h. Our team typically install the RAMSHIELD® system on high-speed rural roads, motorways, and arterial routes where a strong containment level is needed to redirect errant vehicles away from hazards.
MASH stands for Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware, which is the current standard used to evaluate road safety barrier performance in Australia and internationally. TL-3 means the barrier has been crash-tested to withstand a 2,000 kg pickup truck impacting at 100 km/h at a 25-degree angle. RAMSHIELD® meeting this rating confirms it provides a reliable containment level for high-speed roads.
RAMSHIELD® is installed by our team using driven or concreted post foundations depending on the soil conditions and site requirements. The corrugated rail sections are bolted to the posts at the designated working height, with end terminals and transition sections fitted at each end of the run. All installation work is carried out to AS/NZS 3845 and the relevant project specifications.
RAMSHIELD® is designed to accommodate curved road alignments. The rail sections can be shaped and the posts adjusted to follow horizontal curves, making it suitable for bends and off-ramps. Our installation team accounts for these site-specific factors during the project design and installation phase and will work with you and your team to ensure your guardrail bends with your projects curves.
Both are corrugated steel barrier systems, but RAMSHIELD® is a purpose-engineered product with specific post-and-rail geometry designed to meet MASH TL-3 performance requirements as a tested system. A standard W-Beam installation may achieve similar containment levels depending on post spacing and configuration, but the two are distinct products with different test credentials. When you contact us, we will help you decide which system is suitable for your project, based on your speed environment and containment requirements.
