High speed, high energy impact protection.

RHINO-STOP® 240 car park barrier is specifically designed to provide impact protection during high speed, high energy collisions. During crash testing, the guardrail complied with the 240kN impact requirement of AS/NZS 1170.1 for end of ramp locations. This compliance is a requirement for car park barriers installed at the bottom of ramps longer than 20 metres.

Made to withstand vehicle impacts of up to 30km/h.

RHINOSTOP® 240 can also withstand vehicle impacts of up to 30km/h. The guardrail system only requires 2 fixtures per post due to the controlled absorption of vehicle energy by the post.

RHINO-STOP® 240 FAQS

RHINO-STOP® 240 is a w-beam guardrail, designed for high speed, heavy duty impacts.

RHINO-STOP® 240 features specifically designed base plates which absorb the energy of the vehicle and protect the concrete substrate from damage.

“AS/NZS 1170.1, Section 3.8 requires barriers at the end of straight ramps exceeding 20m in length and intended for downward travel to withstand an impact force of 240kN. The impact force shall be distributed over a 1.5 m length at any position along the barrier and shall be assumed to act at 0.5 m above floor level.” – Safe Direction Rhino-Stop

When needed to withstand an impact force of 240kn, the maximum spacing of posts is 800mm. Otherwise the posts may be installed at 2m.
